This 10-week course is designed to include lectures, hands-on labs and web-based components. The course will teach the student the fundentals of TCP/IP networking and the use of current Ethernet Technologies.
The course is made up of three sections with each including a hands-on lab session. In each section, there will be some web-based references and course materials for the students to access outside class time. Each section will include a review, quiz and reference to public (web-based) materials that will reinforce and expand on the material covered. Each student is expected to have basic skills in MS-Windows (either Win98, NT or XP) and Internet access.
At the end of the course the students will have the skills to describe and implement PC networking configuration and testing, basic routed networking with TCP/IP and Ethernet networking with switched, VLAN and tagged networking.
