Pneumatics is a technology used to perform mechanical work. It is also used in automation to determine the status of a process. The electrician has to be able to understand how air in a complex logic is used to control machinery. This basic course is designed to teach the members through example and exercise to strengthen the pneumatic concepts in control circuits.
General topics to be covered:
- Basic physical concepts (i.e. pressure vs. force relationship, etc.)
- Basic controls of linear actuators
- Directional control valve
- Linear actuator directional and speed control
- Indirect control using pilot operated valves
