This course is intended for all members of Local 353, this course is also manditory to all new members being initiated into the Local.
The course covers a wide variety of topics to help members better understand their Local. Our new members may not know all the benefits and inner workings of being a Union member. This course will provide each member with an informational binder and collective bargaining agreement that he/she can keep handy for future reference.
Topics within the binder include:
- History of Unions and Local 353
- Benefits and wage packages
- Member responsibility and rights
- Union meetings
- How to get involved - Committees and Events
- Constitution, collective bargaining agreement and by-laws
- Useful contact and phone number information
- IBEW structure and elected officials
These binders are designed to expand as new information becomes available to members. For example when a new benefits booklet is published by TEIBAS the member can place it inside the binder for future reference. This keeps all the members Union information available at a glance.
