Is this updated program, students will learn about the world of Fibre Optics including:

• The basics of light transmission
• Safe handling procedures
• Testing fibre cables according to the latest Telecommunication Standards
• Setting up, calibrating and testing with one of the industry’s top testers

Students will also prepare and terminate a variety of fibre connectors from top tier manufacturers. Connector styles include ST, SC, LC and MTRJ used in current installations.

The new LASER Optimized fibre and its unique performance properties is also covered in this program and we’ll discuss the important "how and why" of preparing a light budget.

When completed, the student will be able to apply their newly learned skills at the job site.
